Home Inspections
At Heartland Home Inspections, we adhere to New Jersey’s strict standards of practice to provide you with a comprehensive and objective evaluation of your property. Whether you’re purchasing a historic home, condo, or new construction, we ensure a thorough inspection that complies with the regulations set forth by the NJAC 13:40-15.16 standards of practice. Our licensed inspectors are trained to cover all major systems and components, offering you a complete understanding of the condition of your home at the time of the inspection.
Our inspections cover the following areas:
- Structural Components: Foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs are thoroughly inspected for signs of damage or deterioration.
- Exterior Components: We assess exterior surfaces, doors, windows, decks, balconies, grading, drainage, and more to ensure your home is structurally sound and free of immediate concerns.
- Roofing System: We inspect the roof surface, drainage, flashing, and chimneys to check for leaks, wear, and other potential issues.
- Plumbing System: Our inspections include water supply systems, faucets, drains, water heating systems, and vent systems to ensure functionality and identify any leaks or blockages.
- Electrical System: We review service panels, wiring, and safety devices like ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) to ensure your home's electrical system is safe and up to code.
- Heating & Cooling Systems: We inspect both heating and cooling systems to confirm they are operating safely and efficiently, including ventilation systems and visible fuel storage.
- Interior Components: Walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, stairways, and even kitchen appliances are checked for proper installation and functionality.
- Insulation & Ventilation: We inspect insulation in attics and crawl spaces, and evaluate ventilation systems to ensure proper airflow, which helps prevent moisture buildup and mold growth.
- Fireplaces: If applicable, we inspect fireplaces and solid fuel burning appliances, ensuring they are properly vented but without reviewing the inner flues. This is a bacis Level-1 Inspection.
